How UV Treatment Works

Water passes through the stainless-steel UV chamber, where it is exposed to ultraviolet light. The UV treatment process disrupts the ability of microorganisms to reproduce, providing microbiological treatment without introducing disinfecting chemicals into the water.

Because UV treatment does not remove dissolved solids, sediment, hardness, or other physical and chemical contaminants, appropriate pretreatment may be required depending on the incoming water quality.

For reverse osmosis installations, the UV system should be sized according to the actual water flow through the UV chamber rather than RO system capacity alone.

Replacement & Maintenance

UV lamps gradually lose effective UV output during operation and require periodic replacement according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule.

Replacement lamps, O-rings, quartz sleeves, and other service components should be selected according to the specific UV system configuration.

Regular inspection and maintenance help ensure proper UV transmission and system performance.
