Overview
The Crystal Quest Commercial Water Softener Systems (45,000–90,000 Grains) are designed to reduce hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium from water supplies, helping protect plumbing systems, laboratory equipment, appliances, and water-based infrastructure from limescale buildup and mineral-related damage.
These systems are ideal for laboratories, clinics, commercial facilities, light industrial environments, and other applications where softened water is required to improve equipment longevity, operational efficiency, and overall water quality.
By reducing hard water minerals, these systems help minimize scale accumulation in pipes, boilers, heating systems, and water-fed equipment while improving the performance of soaps, detergents, and cleaning processes.
How Water Softening Works
Water softening is achieved through an ion exchange process, where hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium are replaced with sodium or potassium ions.
The systems regenerate automatically to restore softening capacity using sodium chloride (salt) or potassium chloride depending on system configuration and user preference.
System Capacities
Available capacities include:
- 45,000 Grains – Single 1.5 cu.ft.
- 60,000 Grains – Single 2.0 cu.ft.
- 90,000 Grains – Single 3.0 cu.ft.
These systems are suitable for light commercial and laboratory-scale applications where consistent softened water is required.
Three-Stage Filtration Process
Stage 1 – Sediment Filtration
Water passes through a 20" sediment cartridge designed to reduce sediment, silt, sand, and dirt particles.
Stage 2 – Ion Exchange Softening
Water flows through the ion exchange mineral tank and brine conditioning system where hardness minerals are removed.
Stage 3 – Carbon Filtration
Water passes through a 20" solid carbon cartridge designed to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pesticides, solvents, and other contaminants where present in the water supply.

Automatically shuts off water supply in the event of a detected leak.
Vacuum Breaker
Helps protect filter tanks and housings from negative pressure conditions.
Metered Valve Upgrade
Allows regeneration cycles to operate based on actual water usage rather than fixed schedules.
Oxidation System
Utilizes ozone injection technology to improve water oxidation and overall water quality.
Replacement Media & Spare Parts
To maintain optimal system performance, periodic replacement of filtration media and consumable components may be required depending on water quality, usage conditions, and maintenance schedules.
Compatible replacement products may include:
- Eagle Water Softener Resin Media
- Eagle Multimedia Filtration Media
- Sediment filter cartridges
- Carbon filter cartridges
- Additional replacement filtration and spare parts components
Important Information
These systems require periodic regeneration using sodium chloride (salt) or potassium chloride to maintain optimal performance.
In environments with elevated humidity, salt exposure, or persistent condensation, stainless steel tanks may require routine maintenance to prevent surface corrosion or pinhole formation. Fiberglass tank configurations may be recommended for demanding environments.
Applications
Suitable for:
- Laboratories and research facilities
- Clinics and healthcare environments
- Commercial buildings
- Light industrial operations
- Water pre-treatment applications
- General commercial water conditioning
Shipping & Installation
Commercial water softener systems may require freight shipment depending on system size and destination.
Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and system longevity.
Please ensure compatibility with your application before purchase.
