Overview
The LabTech QHS-66 Multi-Sample Homogenizer Processing System is an automated, high-throughput homogenization system designed to improve consistency and efficiency in laboratory sample preparation.
Capable of processing up to six samples simultaneously, the QHS-66 combines programmable operation with precise speed control to support repeatable homogenization across multiple samples. Up to 10 processing programs can be stored and recalled, while a manual operating mode provides flexibility for individual processing requirements.
The system accommodates compatible tubes from approximately 5 mL to 50 mL, depending on tube dimensions and probe configuration, and operates across a 2,000–18,000 RPM speed range. Automated probe engagement and disengagement, together with selectable oscillation, helps streamline repetitive sample-processing workflows.
Its compact benchtop design makes the QHS-66 particularly suitable for laboratories processing multiple samples where throughput, reproducibility and efficient use of operator time are important.
High-Throughput Sample Processing
The QHS-66 can homogenize up to six samples at the same time. LabTech states that the system can process as many as 300 samples per hour, depending on the homogenization protocol and sample requirements.
Automated operation reduces the amount of repetitive manual handling required compared with processing samples individually.
Programmable Operation
The QHS-66 provides both fully automated programmable operation and manual operation.
Up to 10 processing programs can be stored and recalled, allowing frequently used protocols to be repeated without re-entering operating parameters for every batch. Program functions include processing time, homogenization speed and selectable oscillation.
Adjustable Homogenization
The mechanical homogenizer operates from 2,000 to 18,000 RPM, providing flexibility for different sample types and processing requirements.
Selectable oscillation can be switched on or off from the control interface. During oscillating operation, the system can perform up to 60 oscillations per minute.
Sample & Tube Compatibility
The QHS-66 is designed for compatible laboratory tubes in approximately the 5–50 mL range, subject to tube dimensions and the selected probe/rack configuration.
LabTech specifies minimum sample volumes of approximately:
- 2 mL with a 7 mm probe
- 3 mL with a 10 mm probe
Minimum volumes increase when oscillating mode is used.
