LabTech DPS-20 Dual Homogenizing System

Overview

The LabTech DPS-20 Dual Homogenizing System is a fully automated sample preparation system combining mechanical homogenization and ultrasonic homogenization/sonication in a single instrument.

Designed for laboratories requiring flexible, repeatable and high-throughput sample processing, the DPS-20 can operate using mechanical homogenization, ultrasonic processing, or a combination of both methods. Up to 20 samples can be processed in a single run, helping reduce hands-on processing time while providing consistent treatment across multiple samples.

The enclosed design incorporates a sound-abating cabinet with interior LED lighting and a clear polycarbonate door, allowing the operator to observe processing while reducing operating noise.

Dual Homogenization Technology

The DPS-20 supports three automated processing configurations:

• Mechanical homogenization
• Ultrasonic homogenization / sonication
• Combined mechanical and ultrasonic homogenization

Mechanical and ultrasonic processing can therefore be used independently or together according to the requirements of the sample and application.

High-Throughput Sample Processing

The DPS-20 can process up to 20 samples per run using its carousel-based sample handling system.

Compatible tube sizes include:

• 1.5 / 2 mL
• 15 mL
• 16 mL
• 19 mL
• 50 mL

The Cooling Carousel Tube Rack can accommodate cooling media such as ice, ice-water or cold beads to help control sample temperature during processing. Additional carousel racks can also be used to streamline sample loading between runs.

Programmable Operation

Onboard controls allow the DPS-20 to store up to 10 homogenization programs, supporting repeatable processing protocols across multiple sample batches.

The system can also be operated manually for individual sample processing. Depending on the workflow, rinse positions can be incorporated into the carousel to support probe cleaning between samples.
